CIO Views Magazine is proud to feature Andrea Earl Clarke, Managing Partner of Clarke Capital Partners and Co-Founder & Co-Chair of The Labor and Honor Foundation, in our prestigious edition, Top 10 Most Inspiring Businesswomen of Influence in 2025. Andrea’s journey—from corporate leadership to impactful philanthropy—is a testament to her commitment to service, lifelong learning, and community empowerment.
The Birth of a Vision: The Labor and Honor Foundation
Andrea Earl Clarke and her husband, James Clarke, envisioned The Labor and Honor Foundation as a way to give back to their community. What started as a dream early in their marriage evolved into a powerful force for social impact.
“Inspired by the leaders and philanthropists around us, we realized that giving should not wait for the ‘right time’ but should start as soon as possible,” Andrea shares.

The foundation’s name, ‘Labor and Honor,’ carries personal significance. ‘Labore et Honore,’ from the Clarke family crest, represents hard work and integrity—values instilled in James from childhood and deeply resonating with Andrea’s own upbringing as the daughter of public school teachers.
Steering the Ship: Leadership & Strategy
As Co-Founder & Co-Chair, Andrea plays a pivotal role in overseeing the foundation’s initiatives: ✔ Setting strategic direction alongside her family.
✔ Guiding philanthropic investments and grantmaking.
✔ Supporting key nonprofit organizations aligned with their mission.
✔ Providing oversight to their Executive Director and program initiatives.
One of The Labor & Honor Foundation’s key projects is The Labor & Honor Center, a day services center for adults with disabilities. This initiative has become a favorite volunteer opportunity for Clarke Capital Partners and affiliated businesses, providing a meaningful space for community engagement.

A Journey of Growth: Education & Professional Development
Despite Andrea’s successful career in pharmaceuticals and leading tech companies, stepping into the nonprofit sector presented new challenges.
“I initially felt underprepared to lead in the nonprofit space, so I pursued a Master’s in Nonprofit Management from Columbia University,” she explains. “Applying to an Ivy League school after years away from college was daunting, but earning that degree shaped me both personally and professionally.”
Her deep respect for education and lifelong learning stems from her parents’ legacy as teachers, which continues to influence her leadership philosophy.
Empowering Leaders: Andrea’s Advice & Motivation
Andrea’s success is deeply rooted in relationship-building and people-first leadership.
“The impact of relationships—with nonprofit leaders, organizations, and the people whose lives we touch—is the most meaningful part of this work,” she shares.
Her advice for aspiring nonprofit and business leaders: ✔ Prioritize people over processes—meaningful relationships create lasting impact.
✔ Embrace continuous learning—education is a lifelong journey.
✔ Lead with integrity and service—true leadership comes from giving back.
